Six Months, 30 Pounds, 3 Dress Sizes and That Isn’t the Big Story!

I am a changed human being.  I no longer take good days for granted.  I no longer expect bad days every day, either.

If you are new to the story, I have Fibromyalgia.  For the last three years, I have been fighting to regain my energy levels, my ability to think complex thoughts, maintain or regain momentum in my business, even to be able to move about my house or travel to see family without days of pain.  I was on a number of prescriptions drugs that seem to be costing us more and more every year with every change in national insurance regulations.

Now, for the next chapter in the story!  I found some nutritional support products in December that are formulated to rebalance the endocrine system to facilitate weight loss.  Little did I know that the products offered would give me much more value than simply helping me lose some weight.  I have regained my useful life.  At first, you may believe that there was a certain placebo effect.  I don’t think so, but I will allow you that argument.  I did not expect to do anything more than lose weight.  I anticipated feeling more tired, less able to sleep, more irritable due to hunger and feelings of depravity.  This was not my first rodeo, and I had lost and regained significant amounts of weight since I was in my early teens.

The product support has made a huge difference in my ability to (mostly) stick to the food plan.  Yes, I could have lost the weight faster and been more diligent with the food plan.  I have been satisfied with success, rather than only being happy with perfection.  I have been working on healing my relationship to food.  This endeavor is well worth the time, expense of a good therapist, and some serious solitude time thinking about how what is eating you affects what and how much you eat.

Another aspect of my learning process has been what exactly is in the food I had been eating; the preservatives, additives, sugars, artificial food and sweeteners.  I have learned that not all calories are equal and why.  I have learned what turns metabolism on, and what can turn it off.  Exercise while dieting is a delicate balance between keeping your heart and muscles healthy without causing additional oxidative stress in your body, which slows down or stops the weight loss.

The miracle to me has been how my fibro has responded to the healthy supplements, food changes, and my ability to rest at night now.
